A father of five died instantly yesterday when he fell from a crane in Ballymahon, Co Longford.
Mr Sean Connaughton (38) was sandblasting the Catholic Church in the town when he fell approximately 75 feet from the cradle of the crane.
The church is being renovated and Mr Connaughton was contracted to carry out the cleaning work. He was an experienced sand-blaster.
