Dublin:A fitness fanatic who collapsed in a bookmakers had a heart attack most likely related to cocaine use in the past, Dublin Coroner's Court heard.

Vincent Delaney (27), Clonshaugh Road, Coolock, north Dublin, had the cardiac arrest while sitting in Paddy Power Bookmakers in the Northside Shopping Centre on June 22nd, last year.

The court heard that Mr Delaney was a bodybuilder who would go to the gym every day.

His mother Julia Delaney said her son had not taken drugs for a number of years since the birth of his daughter and he had been very healthy, going to the gym every day and running marathons for charity.

Coroner Dr Brian Farrell said it appeared that Mr Delaney’s previous cocaine use had caught up with him. He returned a narrative verdict outlining the facts.
