This afternoon's race meeting at Fakenham will go ahead after the track passed an early-morning inspection.

Overnight temperatures were not too severe and this allowed clerk of the course David Hunter give the seven-race card, which begins at 1.10pm, the all-clear just before 7am.

"We're racing," confirmed Hunter. "We got to around zero degrees last night but temperatures are rising all the time and it's now two degrees.

"There was a touch of frost - and there is still a little bit around - but there is nothing to concern us, thankfully."
