TAKE a walk down Chapel Lane in Galway and follow the trail of those engaging in a strange practice of gazing through a muslin covered glass door for hours on end.
Watchers may be perplexed but they are engaging in a process that is bringing them almost face to face with theatre as it is moulded by leading director, Ms Garry Hynes. The public can drop in on rehearsals and stay without interfering with the actors at work.
It is part of an ambitious Druid Theatre project destined to be the hit of the 1997 arts calendar.
They are working on a trilogy of plays by young Irish playwright Martin McDonagh in a coproduction with the Royal Court of London.
Together with The Beauty Queen of Leenane, which premiered with huge success in Galway and London last year, two new plays - A Shrill in Connemara and The Lonesome West - are on the bill.
Each will play at Galway's Town Hall Theatre on various dates between June 3rd and July 5th before moving to London.
