I observed oystercatchers in the middle of a grassy roundabout. I was surprised to see them far from the sea.

Rita Gilmour Power, Dungarvan, Co Waterford

David O'Callaghan, Gorey, Co Wexford.

Since March 17th , a young, though well-feathered, blackbird has been camping in our garden. I have heard him chittering, and seen his parents drop down to feed him. So far he has survived very cold nights, and a few prowling cats. Is this not very early for young blackbirds?

Ros Henry, Swords, Co Dublin.
