The State will ask the Dublin District Court today to discharge warrants for the extradition to Northern Ireland of four republican prison escapers - Mr Angelo Fusco, Mr Paul "Dingus" Magee, Mr Anthony Kelly and Mr Dermot McNally, writes Mary Carolan.

Lawyers for the State told the High Court yesterday they are no longer seeking extradition. Their cases will before to the High Court tomorrow for the proceedings to be struck out.

Mr Fusco and Mr Magee, who now live in Tralee, were sentenced in June 1981 for the murder of SAS Captain Herbert Westmacott in Belfast in 1980, but absconded.
