Seventeen people were injured in an explosion today at a McDonald's in Bombay, police said.

Seventeen people were injured in an explosion today at a McDonald's in Bombay, police said.

The blast came at around 5.20 p.m. (11.50 a.m. Irish time) in the McDonald's outlet in Bombay Central station's main food plaza.

Doctors onsite described the condition of three of the victims as "critical".

Police suspect an explosion in an air-conditioning machine was to blame for the blast.
