Tehran - Mortar bombs hit a Tehran residential district, where five members of parliament live, yesterday near a base of the elite Revolutionary Guards in Iran's second act of political violence in as many days.

The Iraq-based Mujahideen Khalq, Iran's main armed opposition, admitted responsibility. A gardener at the guards' Sarallah base across the road had his legs blown off, witnesses said. A young woman was hit in the face by shrapnel.
