London - A former Glasgow Celtic soccer star, Billy McPhail (70), yesterday lost his battle to claim benefits for dementia he said was caused by heading old-style leather balls.

His lawyer told reporters a benefit appeal tribunal in Glasgow had ruled that his case would not be granted. McPhail had argued he was entitled to industrial disability payments of £70 a week.
