Beijing - Mount Everest is moving into China at the speed of six to seven centimetres a year from its position at the Nepal border, according to China's Xinhua news agency.

Researchers at the state bureau of surveying and mapping also claim that the thickness of snow on the world's highest mountain has decreased during the past 30 years, due to global warming.
