The 20-week talent trawl draws to a close as the final two contestants of the You're A Star contest take to the Helix stage in Dublin. James Kilbane, from Achill Island, Co Mayo, will sing Losing You by Sinéad McNally, with Chris Doran, from Waterford, offering If My World Stops Turning, written by Brian McFadden of Westlife.
The final hour-long show, featuring the two finalists performing their songs, is broadcast live tonight on RTÉ 1 at 9.25, to be followed by three hours and five minutes of viewer voting.
The results show, again live, will be broadcast at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
The two have been on a tour of the country before rehearsing in Dublin.
Although producing less hype than last year's contest, when Mickey Joe Harte won with We've Got The World, a spokeswoman for the show's producers, Ms Sarah Dempsey, said the show had beaten The Late Late Show's ratings in the past three weeks.
"It got 700,000 viewers each of the last three weeks, and we're expecting to reach the one million mark this weekend," she said.
Some 5,000 aspiring Eurostars auditioned for the contest at five locations during September and October last year. Two were chosen from each rehearsal, as well as three "wild cards" chosen by the judges, bring to 13 the number who went forward for the televised finals.
