Eurovision entrant Seán Dunphy dies

Singer and former Eurovision entrant Seán Dunphy died at his home in Baldoyle, Dublin yesterday.

Singer and former Eurovision entrant Seán Dunphy died at his home in Baldoyle, Dublin yesterday.

Mr Dunphy represented Ireland at the 1967 Eurovision Song contest with If I Could Choose.

He came second in the competition which was won by the UK entrant Sandie Shaw singing Puppet on a String.

Mr Dunphy was also a vocalist with popular 1960s showband the Hoedowners.

He is survived by wife Lily, children John, Gerard, Mary and Brian.
