The euro bounced back above $0.90 today for the first time in two weeks.
The single European currency climbed to $0.9020 from $0.8976 overnight in New York. The dollar was losing some of its shine amid turmoil in equity markets, analysts said.
The euro-zone unit also benefited from yen weakness after the Japanese government delayed an economic package aimed at supporting the stock market and speeding up a clear-out of the banking sector, analysts said.
