Rome - The French President, Mr Jacques Chirac, yesterday said the EU was not doing enough to combat AIDS in Africa and called for a UN-organised conference to help fight the killer disease.
Speaking in Rome on World AIDS Day, Mr Chirac said that while the EU must remain vigilant to the threat of AIDS within the 15-nation bloc, it must also do more to help those suffering outside Europe.
