Good news for Euro-nerds who have been logging on daily to the Irish presidency website, www.eu2004.ie. It's to remain in place.
However, the site will not be updated further "in deference to the Dutch presidency", according to a spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The website, which includes detailed information on the history of the EU, decision-making and policy areas, had a total of 864,049 visits over the past six months.
More than 25 million pages were viewed, and 47 million hits were made, a "hit" being registered each time a page was refreshed or changed.
The busiest day on the site was Friday, April 30th, when more than 900,000 hits were registered. That was the day before the 10 accession countries (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus and Malta) joined the EU.
