Vienna - Most people in the EU are not worried about living alongside people of different religions, according to a poll published yesterday which puts the Irish among the most tolerant.
The survey, conducted by the Vienna-based European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, found that on average 82 per cent of citizens were unconcerned by the presence of people of other faiths. Spain scored highest, followed by Finland and Luxembourg and Ireland. Denmark had the lowest score, below Belgium.
