Addis Ababa - Ethiopia and Eritrea have said that they will sign a peace deal ending their two-year-old border war in Algeria on Sunday. The peace plan, drawn up by the Organisation of African Unity, calls for all hostilities to cease and for a UN peacekeeping force to patrol a 25 km buffer zone inside Eritrea along the disputed 1,000 km border.
Ethiopia, which gained the upper hand with a huge military offensive last month, fin ally backed the plan on Wednesday after Eritrea accepted late last week. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of soldiers and endangered efforts to ward off famine.)
