Snow and sleet over high ground is expected overnight, as temperatures remain low across the country.

Met Éireann has said that outbreaks of rain will continue to spread northwards on Saturday night, turning heavy in places.

This rain will turn into sleet or snow over high ground for a time.

However, the weather will be mainly dry as the night goes on.

Met Éireann said that frost and icy patches will develop later on Saturday night.

Lowest temperatures are expected to be between +3 and -2 degrees Celsius

Flooding

Meanwhile, AA Roadwatch has warned that flooding remains an issue on many national and regional roads.

The organisation has advised drivers not to drive through flooding if they cannot tell how deep the water.

It has also reminded drivers to follow road signage and the advice of local authorities.
