Rainfall warning issued for more than a dozen counties

Met Éireann predicts accumulations of between 30mm and 50mm over 24 hours

Met Éireann has issued a rain warning for more than a dozen counties, which comes into force on Tuesday evening.

The yellow level alert is for Connacht (Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo) as well as counties Kilkenny, Donegal, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford, Cork and Kerry.

The forecaster predicts rainfall accumulations of between 30mm and 50mm over a 24 hour period from 9pm on Tuesday until 9pm on Wednesday.

The yellow level alert is the lowest on Met Éireann’s three point scale and urges people to be alert.
