Question of the day is...what’s the weather like for this weekend?

Temperatures hit a sweltering high of more than 30 degrees this week but what can we expect from this weekend?

This being an Irish summer keeping the sun cream in one hand and the umbrella in the other is a necessity. And so it will be this weekend.

Met Éireann forecasters said temperatures will reach a high of 22 degrees in a mixture of good sunny spells and heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday.

For Friday, clouds are expected to clear after midday with sunny spells and the odd light shower this evening.

Most of us will awake on Sunday to heavy rain but this will gradually clear over the morning.
