A leak on a large water distribution main which disrupted services in many parts of Dublin city, has been repaired, the council said today.

"Normal water supply services have been resumed" Dublin City Council said in a statement today.

It thanked residents for conserving waters since Friday after the 1,000mm main off James’s Street broke .

The work resulted in low pressure and disruption in some parts of the city as repairs were carried out over the weekend.

In October widespread water disruption was experienced across the Capital due to a problem at the Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant in Co Kildare.
