Two buildings housing the US embassy in Mbabane, capital of the southern African kingdom of Swaziland, were evacuated early yesterday after receiving a bomb threat.
A seven-storey building was cordoned off after embassy officials received an anonymous telephone call informing them that a bomb was about to explode, South Africa's Network Radio News reported.
Police in Swaziland said they received a phone call saying there were bombs in the Central Bank of Swaziland building, which houses the US embassy, and at Embassy House, which has some other offices used by the US mission and an American library.
Police with sniffer dogs were rushed to two buildings in central Mbabane to search for explosives, combed the two buildings but no devices were found, a police spokesman said.
