London - About 100 prisoners are expected to be among the first wave of inmates released early from jails under a new electronic tagging scheme introduced this week. Eventually as many as 30,000 inmates a year could end up spending up to two months at the end of their sentence in the community under a home curfew monitored by an electronic device.
