A woman in her seventies died in a house fire in Cork early this morning.
Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation into the fire, which broke out at around 3am at Sheraton Court, Glasheen Rd.
The scene has been preserved and the area has been sealed off ahead of a technical examination which will take place later today.
Meanwhile, in Dundalk, a woman and a child were taken to Louth County Hospital after being hurt in a fire in a house at the town last night.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic technical examination.
