A man caught with a large amount of cocaine and money as well as guns has been jailed for eight years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Michael Fitzgerald (30) had €1.2 million worth of cocaine stashed in his house and his father’s house along with a large amount of mixing agents and packaging equipment.
The court heard he was holding on to the drugs for a modest profit. He was in financial difficulties and unable to repay the mortgage he had on his house.
Fitzgerald pleaded guilty to possession of two handguns, ammunition, mixing agents, cash from drug trafficking and over 10kg of cocaine at his home in Tallaght and his father’s home in Terenure on June 24th and June 26th, 2010.
