The 34-year-old midfielder, celebrating an African record 170th international appearance, contributed an own goal, the equaliser and a controversial third for Egypt as they kept up their bid for an unprecedented third successive title.
After the game ended 1-1 in 90 minutes, Mohamed Nagui and Hassan scored in extra-time to extend Egypt's record unbeaten run at the Nations Cup to 17 games.
Egypt next meet arch-rivals Algeria in Thursday's semi-final in Benguela.
In the day's other quarter-final Nigeria beat Zambia 5-4 in a penalty shootout to book their place in the last four.
Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama netted the winning spot-kick after the game had ended in a goalless draw after extra time.
Nigeria will meet Ghana on Thursday in Luanda for a place in Sunday's final.
Nigeria had Onyekachi Apam sent-off in extra time for a second booking but held on to force the shootout.
