Colleges have different entry requirements and admission procedures, so you need to check the details with the college of your choice. Some colleges require students to apply directly, others channel applications through the Central Applications Office (CAO). For the majority of courses mature students must be aged 23 years or over on or before January 1st in the year of proposed entry to college. If the college wants you to make your application through the CAO you must do so before February 1st. Most colleges have a person in their admissions office to help mature students.
If you need a CAO application form you can get one from Tower House, Eglinton Street, Galway, telephone (091) 563318 or fax (091) 562 344. There is a special section for mature students on the CAO form and this is your opportunity to make a case for your acceptance by the college of your choice.
