Mountjoy Prison, one of Dublin's most infamous landmarks, is to be captured for posterity, by a new photography project at the prison's training unit.

On learning that the prison was to undergo a major redevelopment, Dominic Ledwidge O'Reilly, who teaches photography at the prison, set his students the task of documenting the "dubious splendour" of Mountjoy for future generations. The photographs will be on display at the prison's annual visual art exhibition in June.
