Ambitious graduates are offered variety, exposure and responsibility in a constantly growing and changing international company.

DCC’s two-year graduate programme comprises two one-year placements and is designed to build “depth of expertise” and “breadth of market insight” across its portfolio of businesses.

DCC regards the workplace as the best classroom setting and it invests time in carefully matching graduates to roles and projects that are based on real business need.

Hands-on

This hands-on approach gives graduates the opportunity to run commercial projects from beginning to end and to work in different DCC businesses and divisions.

Graduates are assigned dedicated coaches and will be given ongoing formal development support over the two-year period.

This ongoing support includes a dedicated coach, a “Graduate Buddy” – which is a graduate from a previous year’s intake – and a graduate programme subsidiary contact. Support is also provided by the Graduate Programme team and line managers with responsibility in each placement.

Regular feedback is provided and frequent development programmes are designed to enhance personal and professional skills.

The company also supports graduates in gaining a professional qualification, fully funded by DCC and provide one-on-one language tuition to any graduates on international rotation outside of their home country.

Ambition

Nicola McCracken, head of group human resources at DCC, says: “We have a growth-focused and entrepreneurial culture which has ambition, agility and achievement at its core. We understand the need to develop leaders to support the future growth and internationalisation of the group and the DCC graduate programme is a key source of talent for us.

“ It has successfully generated a high potential, mobile pipeline of early career talent. Over 85 per cent of our graduates have taken up permanent roles across the group, and they are viewed as high-potential candidates for larger roles in the future.”

DCC invites graduates from all disciplines to apply and says prior experience is not required to apply to one of the five streams on offer: business IT, business management, logistics, marketing and sales.
