A poster competition - "People and other lands" - aimed at encouraging primary school children to explore "the interdependence of people, and to develop a sense of belonging to local, national, and global communities" in currently running for schools.

Themes for the posters can include topics such as food, water, housing, health and education, and roads and bridges. Entries should take account of the settled or nomadic lifestyles of different peoples as well as their work, customs and traditions and should stress the links between Ireland and Africa.

Details and application forms are contained in the education pack. The closing date for receipt of entries has been extended to Friday, April 14th.
