What schools did you attend? Convent of Mercy Primary School, Birr, Co Offaly, and St Brendan's Community School, Birr.

Had you any famous classmates? One of the best known would be Mundy and most of the Birr club hurling team went to St Brendan's.

Hidden talents at school? They remain hidden.

Best subject? English and History.

Worst subject? Mechanical drawing, no fault of my teacher, it just wasn't for me.

Most inspirational teacher and why? Margaret Hogan and Brid O'Connell, both had enormous passion for their subjects, made them interesting and relevant and managed to instill that passion and enthusiasm in me.

Did you go to college? I studied law in UCD.

What's the best thing about the Irish education system? When it works well it has such a positive impact on people's lives offering them great opportunities to develop themselves and their talents.

The worst thing? It doesn't work for everyone. When it doesn't, people's options are limited and they don't get the same opportunities to develop their abilities.
