Did you have any famous classmates? There were only 12 of us in my class - all went on to successful careers in business, academia and the professions. Other well-know alumni include Gemma Hussey, Mary O'Rourke, and Kathy Sheridan of The Irish Times.

Hidden talents at school? Playing the cello.

Most inspirational teacher and why? Mother Francesca and Mother Helen. Both were great mentors who believed strongly in the potential of their students.

What's the best thing about the Irish education system? We have strong values about the importance, of education. It is a good broad-based education system.

What's the worst thing about the Irish education system? Despite its strengths the system doesn't suit everyone. Access to education is a huge issue.
