Ties between schools and youth groups in Ireland, North and South, were strengthened in Dublin recently at an event called the first Civic Link Showcase. More than 30 participating schools and youth groups presented their work on citizenship issues to visiting representatives from the Centre for Civic Education in California and US congressional staff - as well as to the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Education in Northern Ireland. The initiative was organised by Co-Operation Ireland.
