Dr Kevin McClory has been appointed to the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse by Minister for Education and Science, Michael Woods. Dr McCoy has had a long career in the social services, particularly to do with the protection of children. He headed the development of new monitoring and inspection procedures for residential homes for children and was a consultant to the drawing up of the Children First guidelines on child abuse. The commission now has its full complement of six members.
