Dunnes splash out with new swimwear

DUNNES Stores' newly launched "Push Up" range of swimsuits is heading for success

DUNNES Stores' newly launched "Push Up" range of swimsuits is heading for success. It is bound to happen very quickly as shapes make inroads on joyless numbers that made the flat chested fashionable because there was no alternative.

Now swimsuits are more for fun. And if this means curves and colour, so be it. Damn it all, the beach is supposed to be fun: plenty of swank and scene stoppers here. All was revealed at a show in Fitzers in Temple Bar. It brightened up a dull day.

With prices between £7.99 and £14.99, swimwear can be one of life's more blameless indulgences: and why stop at one? And be sure to add the matching chiffon overshirts (£12.99), the georgette Sarongs ( £9.99), the big white towelling wraps (£20). Splash out.

Most swimsuits are at their best, and most visible, of course, on the shore. Only take to the water as a last resort.

"Push Up" is about underwiring, and is very like that found in the lingerie department under the word "bodies". But swimsuits are different in subtle ways, and come in brighter colours and prints: flowers, fruit, jungle squiggles, wavy rainbows and occasional plains edged in checks make all the difference. No one would mistake these for lingerie.

The brightest and most showy are in dayglo, pinks, greens, blues, and rainbow stripes amazing technicolour that needs hot, hot sands, and blue, blue sea.

Defined and refined. That's swimwear at Dunnes Stores, 25 per cent of which is made in Ireland. It's all about shape and colour. There is a lot of both.

Get a "Push Up" in dayglo pink and find yourself a blue lagoon.
