A man in his 30s was shot several times in a car park outside Total Fitness gym, Clare Hall on the Malahide Road shortly before 7pm.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Detectives believe the gunman who targeted the victim, a known drug dealer from Coolock, intended to kill him
Gardaí at Coolock have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at 01 6664200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
A woman in her 50s is recovering after she was wounded in the shoulder when a gunman discharged up to five shots from a handgun into her home during a drive-by shooting at Knocknarea Road, Drimnagh, yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí believe two men known to her, who are involved in a gang feud between two drug dealing factions in Crumlin and Drimnagh, were the intended targets of the attack.
Meanwhile, a couple escaped injury after shots were fired at a house in the Coombe last night.
The man and woman were in the house in the south inner city when a number of shots were fired at around 10pm last night.
It is understood three bullets struck the front of the house but no one was injured.
