Dublin 3-18 Derry 2-11:Dublin reached their first All-Ireland under-21 hurling final for 35 years when they comfortably had the measure of Derry at Pairc Esler in Newry last night.
Dublin dominated in most areas of the pitch, but in particular the midfield, with John McCaffrey and Alan McCrabbe in great form as both notched up five points each.
The writing on was on the wall for Derry as early as the interval as they trailed by 10 points, 3-12 to 1-08. Still, they kept going in the second period but couldn't reduce the gap.
Dublin's Declan O'Dwyer score the opening goal of the game in the fifth minute before Derry's Sean Leo McGoldrick responded five minutes later.
Further Dublin goals came from Peader Carton and a second from O'Dwyer.
In the second period Sam Dodds managed a second Derry goal midway through the half but Dublin always had enough to maintain their lead.
Dublin booked their place in the All-Ireland final on September 9th where they will meet the winners of Galway and Cork.
