A 38-year-old married man, Mr Peter Comerford, died in hospital on Sunday night after a stabbing incident in his home in Churchtown, Dublin, earlier in the evening.
Gardai who were called to the house at Carrickmount Drive found the victim on the stairway at around 7.30 p.m. He was taken by ambulance to St James's Hospital, and was pronounced dead at 10 p.m. A woman later called to Rathfarnham Garda station to help gardai with inquiries, and a file is now being prepared.
