Dublin City will ply their trade in the eircom League top flight next season after claiming the First Division title last night.
City earned the point they needed against Bray Wanderers at Whitehall thanks to Mick O'Byrne's 29th minute strike. Bray, with title ambitions of their own going into last night's clash, did muster a last-gasp equaliser Graham O'Hanlon but it was not enough to deny City the championship.
Bray must now go down the play-off route if they are to join John Gill's side in the Premier Division next term.
Elsewhere, Galway United condemned bottom placed Kilkenny to their 25th defeat of the season with a 1-0 win at Buckley Park while Sligo Rovers overcame Dundalk by the same margin. Cobh Ramblers and Finn Harps played out a scoreless draw at St. Colman's Park.
