Gardai have arrested the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian in Co Louth early yesterday. The driver made a statement and was released pending a file being sent to the DPP. The man in his 20s was seriously injured when he was hit by the car at Newtownbalregan near Dundalk at 4 a.m. and he died later in hospital.
