The Hague - The head of the UN forum on climate change yesterday said he would consult with several countries to help draft an outline pact on cutting global warming gases in the run-up to a July UN conference in Bonn.

Mr Jan Pronk, who is also the Dutch Environment Minister, said he would hold bilateral talks with several industrialised and developing states in coming weeks before inviting all nations to an informal meeting in the Netherlands sometime in June. The meeting had originally been scheduled for May 22nd-23rd but was pushed back for logistical reasons, he said.
