The Doyle family-led consortium has won the battle for the Jurys Doyle hotels after gaining control of a majority shareholding of the group.

The JDH consortium has reached agreement wth property developer Liam Carroll to buy his shares, it was reported this evening.

The deal gives the consortium ownership of more than 52 per cent of the company.

The consortium has over three weeks to issue a formal offer document but the group, which is being advised by Goldman Sachs, is expected to move before that deadline expires.

The independent directors at Jurys have backed its offer.
