The recent judicial review of Dublin taxi licence numbers by the High Court has called into question the legislative basis for existing controls, the Minister of State for Public Enterprise, Mr Bobby Molloy, told the Dail last night.

A range of provisions contained in the public service vehicles regulations was initiated on February 7th last, said Mr Molloy, and the High Court judgment was given on October 13th. However, the final determination of the judicial review, "including the relevant orders", would not be finalised until the High Court had heard further from various counsel on October 31st.
