A doorman shot dead outside a Dublin pub in 2003 had considered not going to work on the night of his death because he was suffering from hayfever, an inquest has heard.

Ronald Draper (25), Brookview Walk, Tallaght, Dublin, was shot four times outside Charlie P's public house on Dublin's Eden Quay on June 14th, 2003, by a gunman travelling on the back of a motorcycle.

The gunman approached and shot Mr Draper in the neck, head, chest and elbow with a handgun before making off at speed, Dublin City Coroner's Court heard yesterday.

Det Sgt Walter O'Connell told the inquest that no one has ever been charged in relation to the murder despite a number of arrests and a file being sent to the DPP. He said the Garda investigation into the murder remained open.
