The River Dodder has burst its banks again in Dublin City following a day of heavy rain across country.

The Windy Arbour area has been badly affected and Dublin Fire Brigade has said houses will have to be evacuated if the situation gets any worse.

The flooding has also affected the the N11 in Cabinteely. The north bound lane is reported to be almost completely blocked and motorists are advised to travel with extreme caution.

In February this year the flooding by the River Dodder caused extensive damage in the Ringsend area of the city with many residents forced to abandon their houses for weeks while their properties are dried out.
