Divine Proportions produced a breathtaking performance to win the Gainsborough Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas) without coming off the bridle at Longchamp today.
Pascal Bary's unbeaten filly tracked the pacemaking Aidan O'Brien runner Cherokee and took over in the home straight. She soon swept clear of the rest and won as she liked from Toupie.
The 2-7 favourite was kept close to the pace after his own pacemaker Ratukidul failed to get to the front. Andre Fabre's Antique looked like she could give the market leader a race turning for home but she quickly weakened, although Ysoldina ran on nicely at the end to take third.
