The main Derry to Belfast road remained closed for several hours last night following the discovery of a suspicious object at Glenshane Pass. The device - a metal pipe filled with white powder - had been left at the junction of the A6 and Aghagaskin roads. It was removed by army technical experts for forensic examination. The A6 reopened after 6.20 p.m.
