Racing: Frankie Dettori has given up his intended rides at Newmarket today due to a shoulder injury.

He was unshipped by Spring City on the way to the start before the Racing Post Maiden Stakes at the track yesterday.

Dettori is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to the 14-day ban (July 13 — 26) he picked up for his winning ride on Ramonti in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.

"He hurt his shoulder when he fell off yesterday," said Dettori's agent Ray Cochrane.

"He's got plenty of time off now for it to heal now anyway."

As a result Kerrin McEvoy will ride Godolphin's Laverock in the Princess Of Wales's Stakes and both Perfectperformance and Gongidas at Nottingham this evening.
