Delta Air sees 'substantial' loss during 2005

Delta Air Lines said today said it expects a "substantial" loss for the remainder of the year.

The carrier said in a quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it is struggling with historically high fuel prices, low air fares and other cost pressures.

It added that cash flow from operations will not be enough to meet its liquidity needs.
