Injury-plagued Rory Delap played just 55 minutes for Southampton's reserves last night before coming off after feeling tightness in both calves.
The Republic of Ireland international was making his return from a double ankle injury.
Nevertheless, he remains hopeful of lining out for Southampton against Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Cup next Wednesday.
"I'm going to have a full week's training and hopefully a full 90 minutes for the reserves and then, with luck, I should be okay for Steaua," he said.
